Our mission is to reduce our waste going to landfill by 70%
The biggest contributor to our landfill waste is single use plates and cutlery. To reduce this waste, disposable plates, cutlery and platters are not permitted at the Club. Please ensure you make your caterer aware of our new policy. I’m sure they will be happy to support it.
To minimse food waste ending up in landfill we have purchased a commercial composter. It can compost up to 20kg of food waste in 24 hours so all food waste can be composted onsite – how good is that!
Our catering partner, Spitting Image, is supporting our initiative and will be providing crockery & cutlery for all events as part of their packages.
For BBQ hire and self-catered events we will have crockery & cutlery available for hire. And don’t worry – if you hire from us we’ll even do the dishes.

Our Composter
Our closed loop composter can compost 20kg of organic waste per day including meat & fish. The only thing we can’t compost are large bones and oyster shells.
We will be logging all waste collected and recording our successes.

The Club does have crockery and cutlery available for hire.
